The Victoria Express operates 2 vessels providing daily, seasonal foot passenger service between Port Angeles, WA, Victoria, B.C., and Friday Harbor on the beautiful San Juan Island.This cruise has unbeatable Orca whale watching opportunities as well as harbor seals, Dall’s porpoise, bald eagles, and other birds and wildlife.
Jack and Terri Harmon, owners and operators of the Victoria Express are proud to have completed the retro-fit program for their vessels with new High Efficiency (HE) class engines. The HE engines exceed the International Marine Emission Standards by reducing hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, visible smoke, and sulfur emissions. Along with the engine replacement, both vessels have been burning biodieselfuel since May of 2006.

The Victoria Express and the Victoria Express II are constructed of aluminum and are gyro-stabilized for a smoother ride and are propelled by turbo-charged, eco-friendly HE (High Efficiency) class diesel engines, enabling the vessels to travel at a cruising speed of approximately 20 knots. The Victoria Express is a 105-foot vessel with three engines, and the Victoria Express II is a 120-foot vessel with four engines. Each vessel is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and electronics and meet or exceed international SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) requirements, IMO (International Maritime Organization) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) emission standards.
Aboard the vessel you’ll find a friendly, knowledgeable crew ready to assist you; a galley is available for snacks, soft drinks, and adult beverages; and often your trip is enhanced by sightings of porpoise, sea birds, and the magnificent Orca whale. Currency exchange in our ticket office and duty free shopping on board the vessel adds to your convenience.
